We are looking to start a small specialized team in vinyl letters for decorating the home, car windows and signs coroplast later. What is a good machine to start with which is connected to a computer? Having looked into the Cricut, and I think it should go another way. The Cricut is expensive and too limited in their ability to do what you want. (I owned a vinyl shop 10 years and cringe every time I see that informercial) Depending on your budget, you can get very affordable cutters / plotters on eBay for around $ 600.00. Once you start making some money, re-invest in a good machine, like a Roland and expect to pay a couple thousand. Economic cutters will not last long, but will start with the brand high up vinyl products, you can buy a new machine with ease in 3 to 6 months if you are a good seller.
